We are starting off the New Year with a bang and holding a 5+5 tournament at the Etobicoke Chess Club during the first session of the New Year.

The winner will be crowned one of our Champions, and everybody who doesn’t win will just sort of fade into obscurity and nobody will concern themselves much with those people.

Our Champions will be there, assuming they don’t have work or childcare duties and such. We will be running casual games as well, so come out, I guarantee a good time. Guaranteed.

Happy Holidays to the internet from the Etobicoke Chess Club! Gifts will come late for us this season, as we await to hear whether we will be granted space for our upcoming CFC – rated tournament (more on this once we actually get the space) and once we find out if our allies will be able to lend us equipment (more on this another time).

We are playing this Thursday at our regular club location: Woodbine Mall ground floor between the Shoe Rack and the Ardene, 500 rexdale boulevard in Etobicoke, from 530-930 pm. Come one come all.

Great turnout this Thursday, and Gift Exchange!

We had another solid week of chess with at least 18 people in attendance, lots of timed and non-timed games, some instruction and … Christmas gift exchange! We played the white elephant game and many were happy with their presents. Pictures below. See you next Thursday.

Chess this Thursday!

We have an upcoming gift exchange next Thursday (December 13th) along with our regular chess club night. It is a white elephant gift exchange, so if anyone would like to participate then please let us know this Thursday.

This Thursday, we have chess as usual, Thursday night at Woodbine Mall from 530-930 pm, come out come out and play! All are welcome.
